Many of my friends were well on the road to alcoholism by the time they were 16 or 17. The whole cadet idea seemed to be somehow too much associated with the man and, ah, so we didn't really stick to that very well either. And some of us played sports in school, and that was good for a set number of us, but most of the time we didn't do much of anything.
