How to Deal With Conflict in a Novel

You can't get into this business without offending somebody. As a writer, you have to decide how much of your writing is for preaching a message and the message can be anything. I don't want to read a story where it feels like I'm being preached to at all. It doesn't matter if that preaching is about war is bad or this or that now.
