The Police Movement in the United States, You Know?

It's kind of astonishing, actually, in some ways that it really is the last 18 months that this stuff has exploded. These are all people who have grown up absolutely under the thrall of the sort of neoliberal state. And so you get on to the terrain of more community policing, more policing by consent and less discriminatory policing. It would be no bad thing for there to be functioning accountability boards or something like that for police forces. I don't mean that as in, we need police. This society right now needs police. What we have to hope for is that we can create a society without police.
