The idea is that you should be able to connect your application to a branch and it's isolated. We wanted branches to be a playground where you get the power of the database that you use in production. It gives you this isolated environment to play and make schema changes without breaking anything. And then when you want to get that Schema change into production, you deploy it on plant scale through a pull request.
