Today's mystery involves an object that left traces on the ground, including imprints of its landing gear and burned plants. It was a close encounter of the second kind, but it also involved the sighting of two apparent occupants. Lonnie Zamora had been on the Socorro police force for about five years at the time of the event. He saw a black Chevrolet speeding by that he thought was being driven by a young man he knew. But he heard an explosion, and it occurred to him that there was a nearby dynamite shack which he feared might have blown up.
