Unpredictability in Chess and Life

This chapter discusses the strategy of being deliberately unpredictable and inconsistent in order to keep others off balance and make them wear themselves out trying to understand your moves. It provides a real-life example of chess champion Boris Spasky anxiously awaiting his rival Bobby Fisher for a world championship match. Fisher arrives late and continues to create problems and threats of cancellation, causing Spasky and others to believe he is afraid. However, Fisher manages to surprise everyone with his unorthodox tactics and eventually defeats Spasky.
