At least 70 gigawatts is scheduled to leave the market between now and 2040. If they want to stick around until 2040, which is not that much further, then effectively would have to install 90% carbon capture. So if you are a coal plant planning to retire before 2032, you don't have to do anything. That leaves 130 gigawatts, which is still a lot where something would have to happen.
