The French Government Are Saying There Has Been a Coup in Niger
Niger is a very important country for the Sahel region, beset by jihadist and military regimes. Niger produces seven per cent of all global supplies of uranium but has some of the lowest living standards in the world. The only people who welcomed the coup was that you've got any pregosing of Wagner and they have a presence in Niger. They've been accused of waging disinformation campaigns against president Bazum and some support of the coup in waving the Russian flag. It's part of Russia's attempt to insert itself into Africa,. work itself into the fabric of economies and political systems and become entrenched there.
