For now though, it is okay if we had to fly every sophisticated piece of equipment up from Earth. After all, on the moon we have a power generation issue. We could contemplate some sort of arrangement where nuclear combined with solar ran a lot of the power intensive projects at a base for two weeks then shifted to lower power ones. Maybe you smelt metal for two weeks and then spend the next two weeks surveying four or collecting new ore. This episode is intended to be how we get stuff off the moon economically this century, not in the more distant future. So while we might one day mind helium off the moon for a Neutronic fusion reactors, for today, we are assuming
