This year's winner was one that had previously slipped from first to twelfth place in our livability index. vienna does pretty much everything well in terms of our ranking. The only area where it falls down slightly is in culture and environment. Damascus in syria was once again the bottom city. It scores poorly on almost everything, apart from the culture and environment ranking,. Just slightly above that is lagos, nigeria. And then we have tripoli in libya in third from bottom position.
In much of the world, things are improving for sexual minorities.
The opposite is true in China, where authorities are cracking down on the LGBT community. Bangladesh is suffering its worst flooding in living memory, but with a surprisingly low death toll (so far). And which city topped the EIU’s annual
