The Importance of Emotional Intelligence

The ability to be friends with somebody that you don't always agree with requires a certain amount of self awareness, self possession. And yeah, an ability to work with your own feelings. I think we often struggle to be the kind of friends that we need to be to and with each other. But we do it with people all the time. So I just extend it to the animals too. It's also the same thing is that we talk about our intellectual capacity as researchers, but we don't talk about things like emotional maturity or emotional intelligence.
