A recruit named jacques came to tell alexandre about a particularly big treasure in paris. The target was a wealthy jeweller, a beautier named monsieur bourdin. Jacques had worked with bourdan and described him as greedy. If they succeeded in breaking into the safe, the payout would be huge. Later that night, alexandre told his mother marie about the idea.
