The FDIC's Decline on Chokepoint

Operation chokepoint is a program that cuts politically targeted but completely legal groups and businesses off from the financial system. The consumer financial protection bureau was created to take over operation chokepoint in January of 2015 just weeks after the congressional report was released by the fdic. It remains to be seen whether this will actually quash the program but at this point it seems likely that it will just continue under another name and through the auspices of a different agency exactly as the information awareness office just sort of transferred into other programs when it was officially shut down back in 2003.
