The SEC Should Regulate Cryptocurrencies, Not the CFTC
There's a turf war between the Securities and Exchange Commission and the Commodity Futures Trading Commission. The SEC Chairman Gary Gensler has been working to position his agency as the one to reign in crypto. If the regulator wins its high profile lawsuit accusing Ripple Labs of selling unregistered digital tokens without adequate disclosure, it will strengthen the SEC's position to take the lead on crypto oversight.
