The President's Threat to Legal Action on a Phone Call

The House impeachment managers could have charged Donald Trump with dereliction of duty, incitement of violence or a riot. But they chose only incitement of insurrection, an extreme charge, something that Trump's lawyers jumped all over. Insurrection is a term of art defined in the law. It involves taking over a country, a shadow government and having some plan on what you're going to do when you finally take power. And so when he calls and threatens a dude with legal action, that threat is not benign. The word, find, like so many others, the House managers highlighted, is taken completely out of context.
