Is Real Time a Better Use Case for Business Intelligence?

The real time application is more of interest to ops or systems people where the higher time scale aggregations are more for business. For example, if you have revenue and you're sort of watching the trend growth of revenue and once revenue breaks like a certain threshold, then some action like your system automatically takes some action. This is I think one of the first use cases that I've seen and that alerts and being notified of significant changes in your system is incredibly important. But I also believe that decisions can be made on real time systems.
