Elisam trees can be potentially better for reads in certain use cases, if you while first implement thet write and a second use like all the optimizations that are available. So i would say that a jury is out on this one still. And we definitely still pay the price in alisemtris in order to facilitate all the things that we would like them to have by simply having to do compaction and maintenance all the time.
