Postmodernism, the Cultural Logical of Late Capitalism
The Barbican is not a town. It's a high density housing, a luxury housing unit with a strange cultural center in it. And I'm not sure there is actually any junk space that is quite this rhetorically pure. Also something I noticed that it's quite junk is the increasing amount of lettering and graphics. Things didn't use to have that much. The mega structures were always pretty much theoretical. Even when they were built they were not built as thought.
