Kabbrat and the Petty Bourgeoisie

Kabbrat describes westernized natives as torn between the system that employs them and cultural values of wider population. The petty bourgeoisie must abandon its relatively comfortable status in order to make common cause with whole nation, he says. Kabbrat was just such a functionary, who spent years traveling amongst the people, bringing attention to injustices they suffered. He did lead a popular uprising that eventually succeeded in freeing Denny N. Cabral from Portuguese rule.
