The company subsequently shelved the ambitious plan for epcott and converted what was to epcot the city into epcot the them park which operates even to day. In two thousand 11, disney took another shot at real estate by building a nine 80 acre gated golden oak community in florida. And unlike previous attempts, this was somewhat of a success, because vacation homes in golden oak still sell for as high as anywhere between one point five million dollars and ten million dollars.
