The Importance of Inflation
Inflation is our number one goal. If you can't get prices stable, you don't have an economy. What he's trying to say is inflation impacts every single person. Everybody sees higher prices. But there's basically a segment of the population, which happens to be a majority, that it is really hurting badly. According to some studies by the Federal Reserve and Bankrate.com, something like 55% to 60% of the American public has less than $10,000 of savings period.
