I used to think the multiverse was the obvious explanation of fine-tuning for a long time I feel kind of stupid I feel silly defending this cosmic purpose stuff but I was just persuaded by philosophers of probability that there's some very dodgy reasoning going on here. moving beyond my ability to understand what's actually happening so this well this is one of the things I'm excited about with this bookactually this is not my own idea it's been in the philosophical literature for decades but it's a typical example of academics talking to themselves nobody knows about it outside of academic philosophy despite huge interest from physicists or theologians or whatever.
