The number of college students that choose not to drink rose from 20% in the early 2000s to just about 28% in 2018. The same was true for non-college folks who are almost 30% choosing not to drink. "This is really something bigger than any one country or one state or one city," Ross says.

New national health guidelines in Canada say any amount of alcohol consumption could lead to serious health risks. The guidance comes as more and more young people across Western nations are choosing Canada Dry.
