The Importance of Backwards Compatibility
Microsopt has focused on backwards compatibility quite at an impressive level. But modern software is much more difficulty being specked. And so it becomes harder to do that sort of rolling forward to active preservation. I experienced that with i wrote a little puzzle game for the iphone ten or 12 years ago. That wos, you know, a fun side project and we spent some good effort on. Is a sort of loss to history,. Because you have this very kind of demanding operating system that requires developers to be doing active maintenanceor else it tends to go away.
