Parenting Through Punishment

Punishment does have a role within the Islamic paradigm of parenting, but not relentless punishment. Punishment is almost like I've taken it personally. This is how you made me feel. And this is now metted out punishment for what you've done. We best stay away from parenting through punishment. That's very different to having consequences. Parenting has any role? Yes. You parent and there can be consequences, but consequences is not necessarily punishment.
