What's Drawing You to Directing?
I don't even feel like I have gotten to a place where I've done my best work as an actor. There's so many things I want to do and people I want to work with. The last movie I did was about really just about my experience as a parent, which has been the most important, most profound experience of my life. That was a way of sort of doing what I do but touching on something that mattered to me and I wouldn't have let anyone else do it. Suddenly for whatever reason this kind of acknowledgement opens doors as an actor who wants to tell these stories when I could have had opportunities.
