Is There a Separation of Church and State?

In the mind of Christendom, the state has a role in protecting souls and the church has a role to protect the state. These two realities are, are inimical to the modern mind. And they're inseparable in, in, in their relationship in the medieval period. So you do your Christian morality thing as long as it doesn't interfere with it. It's insane. It is insane.
