I worry that in these social dynamic moments where this, this is a negotiation moment. I always think that there's a little trade off here with trying to win this conversation versus trying to negotiate the best outcome. And so my response might be something like you're telling me that this 54 year old guy with pretty typical chest pain, dynamic EKG changes and a rising troponin is stable for the hospitalist service without a procedure tonight. Even though I can't control his pain and his Troponin is still rising.
