Ann Richards: I went into college thinking I was going to be a doctor like most Indian kids, and you know, I didn't do so well in organic chemistry. She says her friends growing up from those who weren't sure where their parents were, were sometimes homeless are "extraordinary seers of what was going on around us" And that's why she wanted to do something in education.Richards: You're basically saying that out of the experience of being part of a small minority, meaning an Indian descendant kid in a largely black, white school, like for you, diversity was a win, win, win.
