Is There a Difference Between Shunt Responsive and Non-Shunt Reactive?
In 1965 they didn't have scans, so they had to rely on new me on cathalograms to diagnose hypercephalus. Over time it's become clear that patients with certain radiological features are more shunt responsive than others. One of the more interesting things you can look at is actually deep white matter, periventric l hyperintensities,. which are a feature of severe hydrocephalus and indicate a more likely responsive syndrome.
