Pension Schemes - Is There a Remedy?

A report was commissioned by the governments, which engaged Lord John Hutton. He said in those reports that members from an age perspective should not be protected. That wasn't taken up by the government. Certain elements were protected. So older people stayed in their original scheme. Younger members went straight into the new scheme. And then there was a band in the middle of the ones that sort of in between that went over on a sort of transitional basis over a seven year period. The legal case was all about because younger members felt that they were being discriminated against. They were found to be right.
