Free Market Capitalism and the American Enterprise Association
There were free market capitalists prior to the rise of modern American conservatism, but they were scattered all over the place. Free trade in general is a very complicated subject in the 19th century, but you wouldn't necessarily call it a conservative. There wasn't really, the Republican Party wasn't the home of free trade, nor was the Democratic Party really the home for free trade.
