What Are the Worst Possible Consequences for the Earth?

I think the worst thing that can happen, and I have some confidence that we won't get there, would be a mass extinction of the magnitude of some of the things we've seen in the past. That's not impossible. But what's more likely to happen is that increasingly, over the next few decades, we will see the kind of extreme weather that we have seen in the last five years. It does still have to be said that the leading cause of death, it is thought of humans on this planet is actually air pollution.
