You Are the Salt of the Earth
Salt cannot become unsolty. If it is unsolty, it is not salt. We mistake ourselves with something we are not and it causes suffering. The second metaphor Jesus uses is a light. He says, you are the light of the world. This is a powerful metaphor. What is light? We don't know. Scientists do not know. Light's a mystery. It's an energy that behaves both like a particle and like a wave. And that is effortless. All we have to do is be what we are.
