The Differences Between Arms and Legs in Fat Oxidation Capacity
leg muscles are a lot better than arm muscles at the fat oxidation aspect even though a lot of the other endurance and metabolic capacities are similar across legs and arms provided that you are highly trained in both like these elite cross-country skiers are. With the exception of truly elite triathletes we probably all have differences between arms and legs according to this study. We would benefit from swimming more from a pure swimming performance standpoint now whether the time investment is where if it is a completely different question.
