The Dreams of E.H. Richardson
In the early 1900s, an American inventor by the name of E.H. Richardson purchased the land with the money he'd made from one of his inventions, an electric clothes iron. He envisioned a remarkable city unlike any other and knew exactly who should live there: poor soldiers returning from the Great War. Despite his big plans, Richardson didn't leave much of a legacy in this desert. But he did give his new home a new name, Adalanto; that's a Spanish word that means progress.
