How does somebody become a set electrician, let alone a gaffer? How did you qualify and what's the change now? What is necessary to enter the industry and the electrical department? I think the way you get a chance is that you show how interested you are in moving up. And you make relationships. A lot of people that have worked for me have become gaffers and become DPs. They say that I was their mentor and that wasn't my goal. But certainly if they had questions and ask me things, I would certainly tell them how to do this and do that.
