The Story of Murti's Birth
In 1947 India won independence from British rule. In post-partition India Nehru invested heavily in the country's defense technology. Bengaluru had a history of producing good engineers and its geographical location made it a big beneficiary of Nehru's technology drive. But by the 1960s and 70s India still wasn't exactly a tech superpower.
