Dopamine and Parkinson's Disease

Dopamine has its influence, ultimately coming from the substantion nigra-parce compacta. Dopamine will be released in the striatum to act on specific striatal neurons and thereby enhance their GABAergic inhibition of pallidil GABAergic neurons. If you think about dopamine as a signal that there is enough value to invest energy in something, then you could see the hypo movement of Parkinson's as you could see it through the value lens.
