The Aeneid and the Inklings
The Aenea would seem in many medieval strains as being somewhat prophetic. The prophecies that Virgil makes about Augustus Caesar were interpreted by the medieval scholars as ultimately talking about Christ. It's like almost as if Virgil didn't know, but the things he was saying were really ultimately referring to, to Christ. And of course Dante does this in a really beautiful way.
