i was thinking about this french anthropologist that i met some years ago. He told the story of he was paddling in his canoe to visit another village, indigenous village. They had an outboard motor, and they're sooming along, and they go, hey, it's going to take you all day to get to theVillage. Why don't you get one of these? And then he sort of meditates on that. The utboard motor represents the undoing of your whole tradition and culture and life way. You don't know that yet, but we do. We went the other way. Look where we are now.
