The Importance of Public Trust in Democracies
I was fascinated that you talk also in the book about lessons that democracies might learn in relation to accountability and public trust. I think it's really interesting and arguably the thing that surprised me the most in the book is thinking that the Vietnam's of the really Vietnam Singapore or to some extent the UAE have extraordinarily high levels of public trust in the government. People sitting in democracies sometimes feel as if our systems are running amok whereas they feel like Singapore is very clean, he says.
