The Cost of Being a Watchman
The Bible is full of good news, says the author. He looks at chapters 33 to 39 which are all about watchmen and warnings. Ezekiel was appointed as a watchman because he could see trouble coming. But if he didn't warn his people they would pay for it with their blood. That's the cost of being a watchman. And when Jesus talks about the good shepherd in John 10,. he's lifting a whole lot straight out of Ezekiel chapter 34. The Bible never blames the sheep for the state of the flock - that applies to churches too.
