There are still, as far as we understand, hundreds of troops still left in the plant. We don't know what their fate is going to be. This was not a defeat that puten wanted. It doesn't bode well for leonide, not at the moment. But if you look at this from the ukranian perspective, it has really become a symbol. The steel plant and defenders inside of it have become the symbol of ucranian resistance. i think there is Going to be a defining feature of this war.
For the past two months, a group of Ukrainian fighters has been holed up in the Azovstal steel plant in the city of Mariupol, mounting a last stand against Russian forces in a critical part of eastern Ukraine.
On Monday, Ukraine finally surrendered the plant.
After the end of the determined resistance at Azovstal, we hear from Leonid Kuznetsov, a 25 year-old soldier who had been stationed inside.
