The Public Position for Saying No to Irish Language Signage
The DUP has banned the use of Irish language on public buildings in Northern Ireland. The unionist loyalist community, described as a 'Lundy' for their anti-Irish views. Robert Lundy was governor of Derry during the siege of 1689 when King James tried to repel it with starvation and disease. A 20-foot high effigy of Lundy is burned every year in Derry City; anyone who departs from that cult is branded a traitor.
