According to numerous studies, people who appreciate taboo jokes and other forms of black humor show higher levels of intelligence than people who do not. Study: Enjoyment of so called gallows humor is linked to high levels of both verbal and non verbal intelligence. Children think something's funny, they're gng to wan to pass it around. And that has helped keep these nursery rhymes around, outside of a laugh. They help our brains develop. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.
