The Persistence of Inflation
Economists have been surprised by the persistence in inflation. We've seen energy inflation come down a lot but that hasn't yet dragged down inflation more broadly in the economy. I would say in terms of looking forward we now are on more of the hawkish end of the spectrum so I think economists are waking up somewhat to the fact that inflation is more persistent and the fact that central banks are not going to be stopping anytime soon.
