The Evolution of Collective Wisdom

Bob Wright and I have had this argument over the years, but in the end, he does want to top down influence. Bob analyzes it very carefully and says that actually Darwin did the way he reacted to getting Wallace's letter was the only way that made sure that he, Darwin, got most credit. Matt Ridley: There is a sort of, that collective wisdom has taken on a life of its own and is evolving under its own. It would be very hard to put the genie of collective knowledge back in the bottle in human society. An asteroid could probably achieve that, but I'm not sure what else could.
