The Importance of Conviction in Early Adversity
If you don't have the conviction, when you get the negative feedback, you're not going to stick with it. So if your idea is pretty good, maybe the timing is slightly earlier and maybe like you talked to the wrong customers. And you need that conviction to push through that sort of early adversity. I think this is one of the big values of YC is hearing how fucked startups were in the early days.
