Andrew Shabelsky is Professor of Human Behavior and Technology at the University of Oxford. He says there's no smoking gun to prove that social media apps cause harm. The experiments aren't handled carefully, he adds. And this is very worrying for me because when you look at really solid work, reviews of reviews, systematic evidence, you don't find that these effects are compelling.
